LINDA SAYS…

“My passion for promoting the benefits of the circular economy in fashion is as strong as it was when I first opened - way before pre-loved was even a buzzword!

I wanted to create a boutique-style shop offering contemporary, high-end labels. I hadn’t even signed a lease on a shop yet when I saw Trinny Woodall was putting on a charity fashion show in London. I wrote to her and she called me back, asking me to collect any clothes not sold at the show. It was an amazing haul, including Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Dior – not bad for my first pre-loved designer clothes pick up! Over the years Trinny and I have continued to work together, including raising over £150,000 from a "Couture Car Boot sale" for her charity, Action on Addiction.

I just love my business - it’s not like a job at all! Aside from my two wonderful grown up sons, who I raised as a single mum, it's at the very centre of my world. Every day is different and I get to meet such interesting people - whether I'm doing a wardrobe detox with a client in London or welcoming customers into my Cotswolds store.

My shop is a social place and I love a chat! I wanted to create a space where my customers feel comfortable and have fun; it’s so important to me that they're happy after every visit.”

No two days are the same for Linda Purvis, the owner of Encore designer clothes agency in Cirencester: she could be visiting clients in Belgravia, adding the finishing touches to her gorgeous Cotswolds cottage or pricing up clothes in her shop. However, the unifying theme is her ability to greet each day with a highly contagious joie de vivre.”
